Appointments, Retirements, Promotions and Resignations

The SAPC is happy to present to the profession ten newly appointed and promoted employees. We are also bidding farewell to three colleagues, one of whom is retiring.

The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is happy to present to the profession ten (10) newly appointed and promoted employees, who have undergone rigorous selection processes. They bring with them a range of skills, experience and capabilities to help the SAPC fulfil its legislative mandate. In this period, we are also bidding farewell to three (3) colleagues, one of whom is retiring.

Appointments

Marcus Lentsoane – Contact Centre Agent. Mr Lentsoane joined the SAPC in 2023, handling all digital inbound queries via telephone, e-mails, web chats, and social media. He studied Media Studies majoring in radio at Boston City Campus.

Portia Munyai – Contact Centre Agent. Ms Munyai joined the Contact Centre at Council in April 2023, holding an A+ PC engineering certificate from Havatech and a call centre certificate.

Nthabiseng Nkhumane – Contact Centre Agent. Ms Nkhumane joined Council in March 2023, holding a diploma in marketing from Tshwane North College.

Boitumelo Mokoena – Courier Admin Clerk. Ms Mokoena joined the SAPC in January 2023, processing stakeholder certificates and documents for courier service delivery, and is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of South Africa.

Phonia Tshoane – Professional Conduct Officer. Ms Tshoane joined the SAPC effective August 2023, investigating complaints relating to unprofessional conduct. She holds an LLB Degree from the University of Limpopo and has completed Practical Legal Training from the Pretoria Law School.

Thabiso Maripana – Professional Conduct Officer. Mr Maripana joined effective July 2023, holding an LLB degree from the University of South Africa.

Sheetal Harichander – Manager: Professional Affairs (Education). Ms Harichander joined in January 2023, holding a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Health Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and is working towards her PhD in Pharmacy.

Tinyiko Mhangwana – Manager: CPD & Registrations. Ms Mhangwana joined in January 2023, holding a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Limpopo and an MBA from the Turfloop Graduate School of Leadership.

Retirements

Sinah Mabje – Logistics Officer. Ms Mabje, affectionately known as Mmane Sinah, retired in August 2023 after 23 years with Council, having served in roles from Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to Senior Education Officer, Customer Care Officer and Logistics Officer.

Promotions

Liza Mangoale – Manager: Information Technology. Ms Mangoale joined the SAPC as an Intern in 2012 and was promoted to Manager: Information Technology in April 2023, bringing 15 years of IT experience.

Kgaugelo Makofane – IT Technician. Mr Makofane joined as an IT Intern in April 2022 and was promoted to IT Technician in May 2023.

Stephina Maripane – Secretarial Support Officer, Professional Affairs: Practice Department. Ms Maripane joined in August 2012 and was promoted to her current role in March 2023, after nine years as a Contact Centre Agent.

Resignations

Alfred Dooka – Contact Centre Agent. Mr Dooka joined the SAPC in April 2019 and left in February 2023 after four years of service.

Phumelele Zulu – Information Technology Intern. Ms Zulu joined as an IT Intern in April 2022 and left in May 2023 when her internship programme came to an end.
