The build-up to the 4th National Pharmacy Conference comprises various mini events aligned with the South African Pharmacy Council’s mandate, which will all occur on Saturday, 09 October 2026. Among these, the SAPC Charity Golf Day stands out as one event that goes beyond the core mandate to effect immediate meaningful change in the lives of communities where the conference is set to take place. In this letter, Mr Mogologolo Phasha, President of the South African Pharmacy Council, invites the profession and supporters partake in the 2026 SAPC Charity Golf Day.

Invitation to partake in SAPC Charity Golf Day: A meaningful day on the KwaDukuza coastline

Dear Colleagues, Stakeholders and Supporters,

The 4th National Pharmacy Conference will convene from Sunday, 9 October 2026 until Tuesday, 13 October 2026 to discuss best practice in pharmacy and deliberate the policy direction of the pharmacy and its contribution towards national health care imperatives. In the interest of fulfilling the advancing profession’s social responsibility and community upliftment imperatives, the South African Pharmacy Council will host a Charity Golf Day at the Prince’s Grant Golf Estate in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, 10 October 2026 the proceeds of which will be provided to a local cancer support organisation.

4th NPC attendees and members of the pharmacy profession in KwaZulu-Natal are warmly invited to take part in the Charity Golf Day. The event offers an opportunity for pharmacists, pharmacy support personnel, conference delegates, stakeholders and friends of the profession to connect in a relaxed and scenic setting while contributing to a worthy cause. Prince’s Grant Golf Estate is a world-class 18-hole championship links course set in the lush coastal hinterland. The course plays to a par 72 over 6 158 metres from the championship tees.

Players can look forward to a course that combines scenic beauty with strategic variety. The golf course layout includes four par 3s, ten par 4s and four par 5s, with fairways, bunkers, water features, elevation changes and coastal wind providing an enjoyable test for golfers. Signature features include the Prince’s Grant signature 15th hole, Umvoti – a risk-and-reward par 5 where the sweeping views can easily distract players – and a strong finishing stretch culminating in the par 5 18th, Cobblestones.

The Charity Golf Day seeks to extend the engagement of the profession beyond the formal conference programme by providing a platform for collegial interaction, stakeholder networking and collective support for a charitable cause. Proceeds from the event will be donated to a local cancer support organisation, thereby enabling participants and supporters to contribute meaningfully to community-based cancer support initiatives while affirming the pharmacy profession’s commitment to service, social responsibility and the promotion public health.

Members of the profession in KwaZulu-Natal who may not be attending the full conference are equally encouraged to join the day’s activities and support this initiative. The event is open to golfers of varying skill levels, as well as supporters who wish to participate through sponsorship, team entries or other forms of contribution.

Attendees of the 4th National Pharmacy Conference and KwaZulu-Natal-based members of the profession are encouraged to save the date and register today to be of a meaningful day on the fairways. More details are available at: https://sapcconference.co.za/registration/

We look forward to full support of the profession in KwaZulu-Natal and 4th NPC attendance for this meaningful contribution.

Sincerely,

Mr Mogologolo Phasha
