The South African Pharmacy Council brings the following changes within its staff complement to the attention of the profession. This article covers appointments, promotions and retirements since the last issue of the Pharmaciae up to and including the end of 2025. In this issue, we announce two appointments, three promotions and three retirements.
The technological advancements of the last few decades have reshaped life, commerce and health care. Nearly four fifths (78,9%) of households in South Africa have access to the internet and mobile phone penetration is at 92%, according to the last national Census. It is thus a foregone conclusion that pharmacies would wish to offer certain services through websites and mobile apps.
This issue of the Pharmaciae (Vol. 12, No 1) is long overdue. We are pleased to publish the first issue of the twelfth volume of the Pharmaciae, published on a newly developed website and under a new domain. This issue provides updates on key Council decisions and programmes since Vol. 11, No 2. We count 2026 amongst one of our busiest years yet.
