The South African Pharmacy Council brings the following changes within its staff complement to the attention of the profession. This article covers appointments, promotions and retirements since the last issue of the Pharmaciae up to and including the end of 2025. In this issue, we announce two appointments, three promotions and three retirements.
This issue of the Pharmaciae (Vol. 12, No 1) is long overdue. We are pleased to publish the first issue of the twelfth volume of the Pharmaciae, published on a newly developed website and under a new domain. This issue provides updates on key Council decisions and programmes since Vol. 11, No 2. We count 2026 amongst one of our busiest years yet.

Following the conclusion of the 2023 Council Elections, the Honourable Minister of Health appointed further Council members and constituted Council for the 2024-2028 term of office.
As the pharmacy profession welcomes a newly constituted 25-member Council collective, the Office of the Registrar has geared itself towards supporting Council achieve its five-year strategic plan.
We are delighted to announce that this issue of Pharmaciae is the first one issued by the Council collective constituted for the 2024-2028 term of office.
7,062 of 18,205 eligible pharmacists voted in the 2023 Council Elections, indicating a 38.79% voter turnout rate, for the nine members elected by the profession.
